It is one of the more disturbing sexual assaults we've ever reported - a 15 year old boy allegedly lured from off a heavily trafficked street in the middle of the afternoon and taken to a home in Ladyville where he was sodomized. The teenage boy says that on Tuesday afternoon he was walking on Partridge Street with a friend when they were approached by a man in a van with taxi license plates. The boys got into the van and while one eventually managed to escape - the 15-year-old victim was taken to Ladyville where he was held against his will for six hours and sodomized.
No arrests have been made but this afternoon in the presence and with the full consent of the victim's father - he recounted Tuesday's ordeal to 7NEWS. To protect his identity since he is a minor we are shielding his face. We strongly advise parental discretion since he will describe parts of the assault. Keith Swift has the exclusive.
Rape Victim,
"We met the man and he asked me and he if he wanted to go with him to Corozal. The bread and bun boy said he was going home to ask his mom. I went with the boy home and the man told his mom that if she let the boy go, he would buy all the bread and bun from him. He went to ask his mom and then he came out back with me.
We got back into the van and a boy (man) was behind me and one was in front of me. The man pushed one of the chairs back way and hold down the my friend with his foot but he managed to escape and went through the window. When he escaped, they slammed the window and then after that with the window shut he took off with me and drove off. He then dropped off the other two men and only me and him were left.
He went to put in gas and went on the highway by the Boom cut-off. There he told me to raise the window and he told me to let him squeeze it. I asked to squeeze what and he said to let him squeeze it. I said squeeze what and I told him I want to go home. He told I wasn't going home now. I told him I wanted to go home and he shouted after me and told me to come to the front seat. When I got into the front seat he told me to let him squeeze it and then he started to shout after me so I didn't struggle with him because I didn't want him to beat me up."
Keith Swift,
And what size is this guy?
Rape Victim,
"He looks old. He has beard. His belly is fat and he is dark skinned."
Keith Swift,
Okay so you moved to the front seat. What happened next?
Rape Victim,
"After that he put his foot on my leg and he feeled up my leg. I told him I wanted to go home and he said I wasn't going home right now so he took me by the Boom cut-off near a bar where there's big white house. He took me into the house and when we got inside I told him I wanted to go home again. He said no and so I sat down on a wooden chair. When I was sitting down he put his two hands on the chair and he started to put his face close to me and was kissing me. After that I got up off the chair and I went in a corner. He came in the corner and started to kiss me again. I moved from the corner and I went in the wooden chair again. Then he came to sit beside me and put my two feet on his lap. I got up from the seat again and I stood up straight and he came to hug me and then he took me into the room."
Keith Swift,
Let's stop it right there because we know what happened next. How did you eventually escape?
Rape Victim,
"I didn't escape, he brought me back. He told me not tell anybody but when I reached home I told my father."
Keith Swift,
Why did you get into the van?
Rape Victim,
"Because he was taking me and the bread and bun boy to his mom to ask his mom if he could go."
Keith Swift,
Had you ever seen this guy before?
Rape Victim,
"No sir."
Keith Swift,
Why at the gas station didn't you jump out?
Rape Victim,
"I stayed in the van because the man had the window glass raised and I was afraid for him so I had to what he said or else he would have done something to me."
Keith Swift,
What would you want to happen to this man who did this to you?
Rape Victim,
"Make sure he doesn't do it to nobody else. Charge him and put him in prison."
The boy was taken to a Medical Examiner who confirmed he was indeed sodomized. His friend who escaped has corroborated the story. Police have the license plate number and are tracing the owner. Information reaching 7NEWS is that police were closing in on a suspect this afternoon but it is yet to lead to an arrest.
