Premium Gas Jumps to $9.45!

The pump price for fuel soared to a new, record high today.

This morning in Belize City, the price of a gallon of premium gas jumped 38 cents from $9.07 to $9.45. A gallon of regular gas is now $9.15, which is a 43 cent increase. A gallon of diesel increased 34 cents and is now $7.03.

Those prices are only for Belize City while in Punta Gorda where prices are higher because of freight charges, premium gas retails for $9.65; regular for $9.36; and diesel for $7.24.

In the nine months since the start of the year, the price of a gallon of premium gas has increased by $1.12. Government taxes still amount to just about half of the pump price of a gallon of gas.
