Last night an enraged Verna Lamb complained to 7NEWS that police were trying to kill her brother. Tonight officer in charge of CIB Chester Williams flatly refuted that account; he says that Lamb's story is a figment of her imagination.
ASP Chester Williams, C.I.B. Commander
"From the police perspective, I must say we strongly refute whatever this lady is saying. Yesterday afternoon he was met in the area of Faber's Road, by the officers from CIB, however upon him seeing the officers he ran off and he was not caught. Shortly after the officers came in, about one hour or two hours later, the sister brought in the individual. She made no complaint to anybody that her brother was shot at; neither did he make any complaint to us that he was shot at. After the story was ran last night, I personally spoke to the individual, Vancy Lamb, and he personally told me that he was at no time shot at by the police and mentioned that he didn't know where his sister got that story from."
As we reported last night, lamb was picked up by police for a number of burglaries that have been occurring in the Jane Usher Boulevard Area of Belize City.
