And while Williams says the shootings are motivated by young men trying to prove something, robberies cannot be explained away as easily.

At around 3:30 yesterday afternoon 48-year-old businessman Norman Usher was robbed at gunpoint. He says that three men entered his store, Linda's Grocery and stole US$25 and $50 in Belizean currency from the cash register. They then proceeded to hold up two female customers who were inside the store. One of the women was knocked out when she was hit to the head with a gun and to her surprise when she regained consciousness, one of the robbers was kissing her on the mouth. It's an act of fiendish criminality, and Williams says they know who the culprits are.

ASP Chester Williams,
"In relation to the robbery made by Norman Usher, which I believe occurred at a business establishment on Partridge Street, we have some suspects that we are pursuing but at this point in time I won't call out the names because whenever they are apprehended, there will be a need to conduct a identification parade. So it would prejudicial to the case for me to call the names on the media at this time but nonetheless we are doing everything we can in order to apprehend the persons concerned."

Alfonso Noble,
How many were involved in this robbery?

ASP Chester Williams,
"From our investigations it is about three persons who were involved."
