Butane Gas Jumps to $91

Last week it was drivers, and today household managers got a jolt with a sharp increase in butane prices. In the city the controlled price of a hundred pound cylinder of butane is now $91 which is a $6 increase from $85.

And it is not just in the city, in Belmopan the price jumped from $87 to $93; in San Ignacio from $90 to $96; in Orange Walk it zoomed from $86 to $92; Corozal jumped from $85 to $91; and in Dangriga it went from $87 to $93.

We note that these are the controlled prices and for delivery there is usually an extra $2 added on. According to our research these are the highest gas prices ever. The last increase was on July 5th.
