For the fifth time the Alliance Against AIDS Offices on Meighan Avenue were broken into last night and the thief or thieves made off with 3 computers valued at $18,000. Executive Director of the Alliance Against AIDS, Rodel Beltran Perrera says this latest break in is disheartening especially since his organization is getting ready to implement some major projects to assist in the fight against AIDS.
Rodel Beltran Pererra,
"Again we have been robbed of all our small belongings, all our computers, and it is extremely sad for us and really at a bad time because, like I said before, we are preparing for major training conferences in Belize and beginning our Global Fund Project. So I don't know. I am so upset at this, that we have been putting so much work into these two events and to come and open up and see that all our equipment is missing, its incredible. Vital information is on those computers. Whichever agency out there is purchasing it, whatever individuals, please think about us, please think about the work we have been doing and accomplishing, and so much work that we have to do in the area of HIV and Aids. We are helping out people and we would like to make an appeal that you don't purchase this."
The computers are three dark grey Dell models. Pererra asks that anyone who has any knowledge of there whereabouts to call his office or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 0-800-922-TIPS.
