It's not quite on par with being the last person to raise a union jack on Belizean soil, but Daria Vallecino of Santa Familia in the Cayo District can claim that she was the last to take a swipe at the Courts Spin to Win Wheel. Not quite history...but her story is that the winning ticket with "Daria" scribbled on it was picked from among 90,000 others in the barrel. We were there when Vallecino got the call.
Rafael Martinez, Show Host
"This was the final draw for the year 2005 in which one lucky Courts customer would have his or her name chosen from the barrel. We had over 90,000 tickets in there and the suspense was great we finally got to picking that lucky person's name out and the person is from Santa Familia. Now Daria Vallecino will be actually spinning to win up to $75,000 tax free dollars."
The least possible prize that Vallecino can take home is $25,000. The Spin to Win Show is scheduled for Friday January 6th. Courts now begins its new promotion called the going, going, gong sale which, we somehow sense, will involve a loud, clanging saucer shaped bell.
