Nothing creates as great a sense of urgency as an election. In the days leading up to the big day, everything in the political sphere is fast-tracked: ground is broken, buildings are inaugurated, and plans are launched. We don't know if this furious flurry has any effect on the electorate, but it sure makes the politicians happy. And that's why the Prime Minister was smiling today as BELTRAIDE launched its 2008 - 2009 action plan. According to the literature, it's all about unlocking Belize's potential for investments. And the Prime Minister and Minister of National Development made it clear that he action on BELTRAIDE's numbers is so wild that it made even him, who's read a few false figures in his time, do a double take.
Rt. Hon. Said Musa, Prime Minister
