And while the government is being bullish on UB Student Body President Moses Sulph, it's also taking its gloves off in the battle with FFB boss Bertie Chimilio. Government has announced that it is boycotting the World Cup qualifier that Belize will play in Guatemala on Wednesday February the 6th. As we've reported, the match is against St. Kitts and Nevis and it will be Belize's home game, but because there are no FIFA approved stadium in Belize, the FFB said it was forced to book the game for Guatemala City. There's been great deal of public outcry against it, and now the government is capping that with

this official boycott. And while it sounds forceful, it really means nothing to FFB President Bertie Chimilio. The FFB is autonomous and answers to FIFA - which the Prime Minister recently said. "operates like a Mafia." Still, government is hoping that the players will be emboldened by the boycott and refuse to participate.
A government release says that government is calling on the private sector to collaborate with government in compensating the players for any income they would lose by not going. And what does Bertie Chimilio have to say? Well we contacted Bertie Chimilio late this evening; he had just returned a FIFA meeting Miami. He says government cannot boycott FIFA because they are not contracted by government. He says by urging players not to play - they are inviting anarchy and chaos and they are inciting violence. He also noted that the team is presently playing test matches in Flores, Peten, Guatemala.
In a release this morning, the FFB announced the names of those who've made the team. They include. Carlos Slusher, Shane Orio, Deon McCauley, Deon Frazer, and Harrison Roches.
