The boss of the Caribbean Development Bank is in Belize. He is here to chair the first formal negotiation meeting of contributors to the CDB’s Special Development Fund for the seventh contribution cycle. Basically the CDB will spend the 4 days – courting donors – in attempt to raise US$250 million to fund the bank’s special projects. It will all happen at the Biltmore Plaza Hotel which is where we met the bank’s President Compton Bourne. He gave us an overview of the meeting.
