And while that matter protracts indefinitely into the future, another complex corporate entanglement found its way to the Prime Minister's Office today.
The two major shareholders in Citrus Products of Belize Ltd, Banks Holdings and the Citrus Growers Association met with the Prime Minister basically as a go-between.
According to a very vague official release, quote: "they agreed on a strategy that will bring them closer together for the good of the citrus industry," close quote.
That tells us there was no breakthrough, but in the current climate, to even get both sides to sit together with a mediator can be considered a breakthrough.
We are told that it was agreed that future meetings will be held. As we've reported, both sides differ principally on the role that ousted CEO dr. Henry Canton should or should not stay. The CGA wants him gone, and Banks says that he must stay as a term of their investment agreement.
Banks Holdings was represented by Sir Allan Fields and Richard Cozier, while the Citrus Growers Association was represented by Denzil Jenkins, Henry Anderson, Rosella Zabaneh, Jeffrey Locke and Eccleston Irving.
