Tonight, a Belize City mother is begging for your help in finding her son. He is 25 year old Matthew Gonzalez who lives on San Pedro and was last seen a week ago when he went fishing.
She told us that a neighbor called her on Tuesday to say that he went fishing and has not returned. That's why Violet Jones is begging for your assistance to tell her anything about the son she calls "Jun-Jun"…

"On the 11th of January I got a call from a neighbor of his - a friend, who ask me if my son was in Belize and tell him no, he told me that he didn't see my son from Friday."

"Friday January 7th.?"

"Yes Jules and that was the 11th when they call me. Jules I couldn't get up to do what I have to do on the 12th, I try to call everybody that I could have call in search of my son. I didn't get any positive response. On the 13th I catch the boat and I went to San Pedro, made a formal police report, I took his picture with me and I gave it to the police
department. I went to his house, everything was just the way he left it, all his clothes are home, his slippers, his wallet, everything is at home but my son is not home. All that I got to understand is that he went fishing and that's all I got to understand. The police told me they will send out a search party to search for my son. So far I haven't got any answer back from them. I went there today, they tell me they will call me back and I am still waiting."

"The boat he went fishing in, is that accounted for?"

"No they didn't find the boat."

"You fear that he is lost at sea?"
Violet Jones, mother
"Yes Jules. I ask anybody out there to please look out for my son, if anybody find him, I don't care how they find him, even if it is only his body I will get a closure then I will be satisfy. I need my son body if I can't find him alive Jules. So anybody please, anybody see Mathew please call me at 607-4376 please. If you are anywhere please come home to me I need you son, please come home."
Again, that number is 607-4376 if you know anything about the whereabouts of Matthew Gonzalez. There are reports of another missing man. He is 36 year old Arthur Flowers, better known as Johnny Cake. Flowers was reported missing by his room-mate, Nathan Underwood, after he left his Belize City home on Wednesday to do routine Johnny cake sales and has not returned.
Flowers is brown skinned, medium built, 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighs about one hundred and fifty pounds. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Arthur Flowers is asked to contact the nearest police station.
