Now, one group caught on the bad side of these new regulations is the bus operators. They are being told that they can only travel at half capacity - which is like telling them to stay home. That's because they'll take a loss on every run at 50% capacity.
And we know that the busses are threatening a complete shutdown if that measure is imposed on them. Today, the Minister of Home Affairs proposed that some form of subsidy would have to be put in place:
Hon. Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth
"We have to find creative ways in order to subsidize the bus operators, so that is something that we are addressing at this very moment and I am hoping that by Monday, latest Tuesday we can have a resolution on that particular issue."
But that subsidy may not be necessary. Late reports to 7News are that the National Bus Association has gotten a commitment from a senior government official that they will be allowed to travel at full capacity - once they strictly observe all sanitary measures and mask wearing. President of the National Bus Association Andy Shaw told us that senior official told him that the 50% capacity limitation will be put on hold for the time being.
