Garbage Problem Soon Solved?

The Belize City council still has not managed to pay its 1 million dollar plus debt to its sanitation contractor Belize Waste Control. But, sources within the council tell us that Government has committed some funds to give the council at least a partial bail out.

City Hall expects to pay this to Wage Control. By next week - and helps that regular garbage collection can resume then.

Right now the council is 22 weeks in arrears at $60,000 per week - which is over 1.3 million dollars owed.
