Lobster lovers - or those who can afford the costly crustacean - have 10 days left to enjoy the luxury langosta.

That's because the season closes on February 28, 2022 - and re-opens on June 30th.

After prices cratered during COVID - Lobster demand has rebounded and with it prices. The prized shellfish was selling for as much as 36 dollars per pound this year - owing in no small part to cut throat completion between private.

A release says the Fisheries Department also reminds fishers that lobster traps should be removed from fishing grounds during the closed season. It says "The Department will be actively enforcing the removal of traps from the waters during this period."
