There is a large jump in the number of COVID deaths tonight. It has increased by 8 - but health authorities say that those deaths did not occur in the last 24 hours.

Deputy Director for the Central Region, Melissa Musa says the deaths occurred over a period of two weeks - while they were pending confirmation for being COVID related deaths. 6 occurred in the Belize district, and two in the Cayo district. The total number of deaths is now 641.

But, on the upside, tonight there are only 104 new COVID cases to report, and today's COVID positivity rate is 7.39% - the lowest it has been in weeks.

18 persons are in the hospital, 4 in the ICU.
