Yesterday we told you that the CEO in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Julio Sabido and a technical staffer for Pharmacies had made the trip to Social Security Offices in Belize City to meet with the Board of Directors.

Well, it turns out he didn't meet with the board, but with the Chairman, Nigeli Sosa and the CEO, Debbie Ruiz. Chairman Sosa clarified this for us and added that no decision has been taken at this time on the loan. She said the objective of that meeting was, quote, "for us to get a good understanding of what their concerns were." She added, quote, "At this time, the process is taking its course thus we are not yet at the point where the Board Of Directors can make a decision." Chairman Sosa noted that the notice is advertised for 2 weeks and then they allow another week to get concerns from the public. Today makes it only 1 week since the first publication.

In her communication with our newsroom, the Chairman stressed, quote, "that all legitimate and justifiable concerns will be taken into consideration and we encourage the public to take this opportunity and let their voices be heard by sending in their concerns in writing to the CEO of SSB by August 12, 2022."

So, if you're not happy with the loan proposal, you're encouraged to send an email to the SSB, you still have two weeks to voice your objections.
