At the top of the news we told you about a deliberately misleading press release sent by the Port of Belize at 1:00 pm, saying that the stevedores' actions had forced the MV Aries to depart the Port. As we showed you, that was untrue, since the ship was still there at the pier head at 5:30 pm.
Well, the latest update is that the Port Authority has ordered the vessel to move from the pier head and go to anchorage. This is to keep up with the schedule of arrivals - because the next ship waiting in Port, the Herca 1 is now scheduled to take up the berth at the pier head. So, the Aries has to go back to anchorage.
Now, it is left to be seen if the vessel will go to the Big Creek Port to offload the 200 or so containers it has for Belize, or if it will continue on to Jamaica.
