Over the weekend, PC Jody Ingram was ambushed in Unitedville and he and his brother, Jerrington Ingram, were chopped several times, causing them to be hospitalized. Since then police have made several arrests. 29 year old Melissa Villanueva, 20 year old Sylvester Mendoza, 21 year old Tyrone Mendoza, 18 year old Adrian Lemus, and two 17 year olds were charged for the crimes of attempted murder, Dangerous Harm, Grievous Harm, and Aggravated Assault upon Jerrington Ingram.
Meanwhile, Villanueva, Sylvester Mendoza, Lemus and the two minors were charged with a second count of each crime upon PC Ingram.
49 year old Delvorine Holland was also charged with the crime of Aiding and Abetting to commit Grievous Harm upon Jerrington Ingram.
PC Ingram had attended the National Agriculture and Trade Show on Sunday, where he got into an altercation. But it wasn't until he left the grounds in Belmopan that he was attacked. His brother was injured while trying to defend him.
