More than half a year after they put a pause on Boledo, and tens of millions of dollars in losses to public revenue later, government today sheepishly - and in a closed event - signed the contracts with the new Sales distributors of Boledo
A release says the Belize Government Lotteries Limited officially signed the contracts with the two selected sales distributors of Boledo, and also government lotteries. As we reported, those two companies are Nando's Wholesale and MGM Entertainment - the latter of which remains wholly mysterious and questions about its principals to the government have gone unanswered. The media was not invited to today's event.
The release adds that under the new regime, the sales distributors will have the right to purchase government lottery credit from BGLL and will distribute them to sub-agents in each zone. The sales distributors are responsible for recruiting and establishing a relationship with the sub-agents who will be resellers of the lottery.
BGLL will pay sales distributors a commission on total wager, and then the distributors will in turn pay a commission to sub-agents.
And like we told you before, Boledo, Ordinary, and Jackpot will all return on December 1st, with the first drawing held on the 3rd. The revenue from these games will be used to fund for NHI and the Official Charities Fund.
