Earlier in the news you heard about the devastating tragedy facing mother Alva Moody - whose 4 year old Ayana, died while in foster care. It's the second child she has lost to a violent act in 5 years; in 2018, her first daughter, three year old Etana was killed by a gunshot to her head - the product of a gang rivalry. Now, she's fighting the Department of Human Services to get back her other daughter - a two year old who is still in foster care.

And tonight, another mother is also fighting with the Department. Destiny Myvette is the mother of the then 15 day old child whose father was charged for grievous harm after he - allegedly - badly injured his newborn. Now, 15 months later the mother is fighting to get her 1 year old back - and she says the Department of Human Services is standing in her way without any lawful authority. She turned to the media after everyone else closed their doors on her. Here's her story:

Myvett says the Department of Human Services has not shown her any notice of appeal - which he claims his office is pursuing. She says she even went to the police to have them summon the Human Services Department to court - but that was unsuccessful.
