Tonight, the Northern Fishermen's Co-operative remains in a precarious position and despite the Prime Minister's glib pronouncements yesterday, no loan has been approved to bail it out.
So, the co-op was unable to pay its employees as it would normally do on the 14th.
It remains unclear - and according to our sources- unlikely - that an HRCU buyout of the non performing Belize Bank loan will be approved in the near term. And, if it is not, the country's largest and oldest co-op faces the very real risk of folding. We'll keep following the story.
