BTB Considering Plight Of Placencia's Tax Reg Violators

Last week we told you about the tax crackdown in Placencia, where businesses were fined no less than $2,500 for tax law infractions. These fines came months after an undercover operation and during the slow season. Today we asked Mahler his thoughts on the concerns of the small business owners who say that's hard money to find in the slow season.

"We're having a discussion at the Belize Tourism Board and actually we met with the Belize Hotel Association this morning to talk about looking at new taxation or making some adjustments in the taxes and so we're having those discussions right now."
