And the former Caribbean Shores rep and former PUP Minister of Health who does not support the plan to move the University Hospital from the UB campus is Jose Coye. He was Minister of Health during the second Musa Administration. Last week Wednesday on the "See Smoke" podcast he said that since the project was moved, there is good reason for the public to suspect that something sinister is afoot:

"Evidently, if it is to be the faculty of medicine built on the university, that is a very good idea. It was good."

"Makes sense."

"But to me, what happened is that it is something that was subverted and there is not good explanation given. So it leads us with the belief that it's a sinister motive. How could you justify saying that you're putting this faculty of medicine, this tertiary level institution, now at a different place? I didn't find anything to justify why they had to move it from there."

"What I would think we should be doing as a people indeed is to stop the buying of that land. I am a strong believer in participating in our democracy beyond the ballot. We need to continue to make the ballot work."

"If not, the bullets could replace it, and we don't want that. So therefore, I think this needs the participation of the people of this country. It's not about partisan politics. It's about the good of Belize."

"Let's put beliefs first. That money must be spent for what it was intended for."
