AND THOSE 23 million pounds of chicken sold per year, amounts to 6.5 million birds slaughtered. We asked about keeping prices stable:

Andre Selgado, Manager, Quality Poultry

"So in terms of the rise in chicken prices we have not gone up in prices I think the last price increase was almost 2 or 3 years ago so the prices have remained constant with the exception of of neck and back which is a very fluctuating item so sometimes people want it sometimes they don't, its raining so we are going to sell a lot of neck and back now because of course the rain people want soup you know people use it for specific reasons so besides the price of that it remains the same and yes we know in America there was a scarcity of eggs however we had already pre-thought about that so we already have layers in Belize, in the country that ensures we don't run into those situations hence the reason we haven't gone up in prices lately."
