And back outside the chambers, when the PM was asked about the former BTL employees and their severance, he sided with them, saying that BTL will have to "find someway" to pay them.

John Briceno, Prime Minister

"I think they have a meeting today, the board meeting is discussing that so but at the end of the day as I've said, I believe some way has to be found to be able to pay these people. I'm not speaking and I might get into trouble because I'm no attorney but I don't think there's statute bar for your severance pay especially when you were told you can't get it, it's not like you didn't want it. So I do believe there's a strong case for these employees to be able to get theirs."

The BTL Board of Directors met today - reportedly to receive two more legal opinions on whether they should pay the BCWJ employees. The total severance payment for both groups of employees could be upwards of 20 million dollars.
