If you blinked at the fuel pump - you might have missed it. But on December 30, 2025, Belize got a low key New Year's gift. That's because - for the first time in years - the price of a gallon of regular fuel in Belize City dipped below 11 dollars.

The price went down to 10 dollars and 86 cents per gallon ($10.86) - which was the lowest in at least two years and maybe many more.

Of course this is because In December 2025, oil prices worldwide fell to their lowest levels since early 2021.

And if you're wondering, most of that 10.86 went to taxes - which constituted 44% of the pump price - while the actual acquisition cost was 43% of that. The balance was the dealer's margin.
