Tuk Tuk Belize tour services are not just limited to Tuk Tuk's anymore, they have upgraded their tour fleet to Eco buses designed to accommodate large groups. We spoke to the owner of the business about this new expansion today. Jomarie Lanza took a tour in one of the new sightseeing buses:
Her Tuk Tuk's took the city by storm back last year in August, but with the demand of larger groups coming into the city for tours, Tanisha Vernon saw a need to expand her tour fleet and bring in 2 new Eco buses.

"We have been pushing our sustainability and eco friendly company for the past 6 months and we found that there was a demand for groups you know we have introduced the Tuk Tuks and it holds a capacity at a time comfortably 4 passengers and because of the popularity that we have been receiving we are getting larger groups and so we said you know what this is the time to step up and meet the demands by the public so we decided to source our same, it is a different company but I have had it in my plan from the moment the Tuk Tuk idea came out but the timing of it became a little bit more urgent and I am so

grateful we are able to accommodate larger groups and we also want to add to it that it is not only for international guests we know that we have a lot of schools and students that wanted to come and experience the Tuk Tuk Belize tours and that whole eco and solar EV aspect of it and now that we have this we definitely want to extend and expand that option to you know primary school high school students and give them an educational tour as well so it is not just about looking or driving around in a luxury bus but to also understand the importance and the value of the eco tourism and the direction that the world is moving towards when it comes to solar and Ev."
These sightseeing doorless buses can accommodate groups up to 13-15 persons, and they have already begun running tours around the city. Vernon hopes she will be able to offer new additions to tour options as well with the eco buses

"Most of our tours will remain the same, standard sightseeing tour our cultural and history tour, we have added coffee tasting tour we have bar hopping and cocktail, and so we are going to stick to the same tour with these buses for now but we do have plans to possibly do a beach break tour where we take you all the way to old Belize in them so since it is a new product we are still testing and trying different routes and areas. So for the start we are just going to stick within the city limits and then later on we will expand to further destinations. These buses can go up to about 50-60 miles before you know it needs to recharge again and the beauty about it is that it is using the natural energy the natural sun to you know move the bus."
