And another reason they wanted to meet today - was to get a clearer understanding of certain remarks made by Transport CEO Chester Williams. Those rubbed them the wrong way, and they wanted to set that record straight:

Phillip Jones, Belize Bus Association

"The CEO passed a comment that was not what you would say pleasant towards the operator that chose. Some of the operators feel threatened that they will be victimized in some form or fashion basically because of the statement by the CEO but we had a meeting yesterday and our meeting was a positive one we had a great turnout, we had members from the taxi association that joined us as well and other members that want to join with us so we had a very productive meeting and the meeting is for us as bus operators who choose not to join the national bus company that we want to give our commuters the highest possible service and to maintain and uplift the business and continue to serve the general public as best as we possibly can."
