And of course, nothing seals a deal quite like salaries and the minister today denied reports of annual salaries being around six figures. He brushed it off by saying if it were so, more people would apply but he did acknowledge that the salaries are more than they were seeing before:

Dr. Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport

"Well I think that most of you here would have applied if that were the case. We have no six figure salary. It's in some cases better than what they were making before but we have to be real with what we're making now and we're trying to do our best to have the pay be attractive for our people. As we go forward and the company improves and we have opportunity to attract people and you have what, how many figures?"

Reporter
"I said six, six figures. Around 150 thousand."

Dr. Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport
"I don't know if we'll get to seven figures but we want good people who will return to the company the value that they are getting in terms of their pay plus more. So at this time I'm sorry to disappoint the people who really want to know that, but no not yet."
