And today we spoke with Flowers' mother who did not know her son was out fishing. However, while she was devastated, she said she preferred that he died from natural causes rather than be harmed by someone else.

Murel Jones, Mother of Deceased
"When I got the news yesterday evening, because I know he was sick, he had a very bad flu and a pain in his stomach and his chest. when I got the news, I was by the shop sitting by Vernon Street when a young man came and tell me that Drive caught in an accident and died and I said can't because I just spoke to him and he told me he isn't going to sea right now. That's the only thing I remember."

"I think it will affect me very bad because he was like the person I depend on. When I got sick any time I need dinner, he takes care of me. I don't know who I will manage but I will."

Jaleeza Roberts:
"So was he your oldest or youngest son?"

Murel Jones, Mother of Deceased
"I have two older than him but like he was the one that's around me frequently, everyday he's around me. I call him everyday, even in the night I call him before he goes to sleep just to check on him to see if he's alright because I know one day, something is bound to happen so I just try to keep in touch and make him feel good."

"It hurts for each mother, no matter what your child does, it hurts, but it's still your child, you have to live with it. You can't, because he's a street figure, you will abandon him. You can't do that because when you abandon them, they will get worse. So you just have to talk to them, if they want to listen they listen, but at least he didn't do it in front of me. I didn't see him in any action or anything, I only know based on what people said. But apart from that I never saw him. Because actually, he was cool and he helped a lot of people."

"Although he's a street figure, you know one day either God takes him or sombody hurts him but for me, I'm glad he went this way. I can't say well somebody hurt him. It's just God is ready for him, what can I do? I can't fly in God's face."

Flowers had 3 children.
