You've seen the launch of their ramen and flour products, and now Caribbean Organic Food Stuff is introducing Belizean canola oil to stores. It will be hitting the shelves this week and promises to be cheaper and healthier than the regular "123 vegetable oil." While the canola seeds are imported, the oil is produced right here in country. The PR officer Fortunato Noble told us more via Zoom.

"It is now being produced and soon to be introduced into the market maybe as early as Thursday. Right now we are bottling the oil, it has been in production for a couple months but we're in the process of bottling now and after this, distribution. Manna is a premium quality oil in that it has no preservatives, no additives, it's pure canola oil. It is different than others that are in the market in that it was made here in Belize from Canadian canola, we import our canola seeds from Canada and the entire process takes place right here in Carmelita at the Caribbean Organic Food Stuff. It is done with premium ingredients and using high technology and one of the latest in oil processing technology, it is one of a kind, the first of its kind in the region, as far as I have done my research, there is no canola oil producing company anywhere in CARICOM so that makes us special. The oil, I have tasted it myself, it's smooth, it doesn't have that oily finish when you fry all that oil in the air type of thing."
"We have not finalized the price as yet, that will happen later today or tomorrow morning. It will be definitely more affordable than the ones that are currently in the market."
"I have said before, what we do we look at the market and see what products we import a lot of in Belize and try to do some sort of import substitution which helps a lot with several things. We retain our foreign exchange, we create employment, we don't lose that amount of money to foreign products which we really don't benefit off of, people don't get hired to produce these products that are mass produced and dumped in Belize."
There will be 3 sizes available: the 500 ml, the liter, and the gallon.
