On Sunday of last week, Tenchtronics Communications was cleaned out to the tune of $45,000.

After the burglary, Proprietor Evan Tench reported to police that burglars had stolen a safe containing $13,000 U.S. dollars, $4,000 Belize dollars, 8,000 pesos and an assortment of phone cards and phones valuing a combined $15,000.

Quick work by investigators have led to the arrest of two men, 31 year old Frederick Dougal and 21 year old Frank Vasquez. This afternoon after a two-hour dive in the Belize River at mile seven on the Northern Highway the safe's door was retrieved. Police have also recovered $4,000 U.S. dollars and a number of cellular phones. Also they've confiscated a Buick Park Avenue and a Saturn car believed to have been bought with the proceeds of the burglary.

The two men Dougal and Vasquez were charged with burglary and handling stolen goods. They appeared before Magistrate Earl Jones where they pleaded not guilty. Vasquez was remanded while Dougal received a 5 thousand dollar bail, which he was unable to meet. The case was adjourned until the 15th of March.
