Exactly one week ago today accused murderers Jerry Bush and Terrence Bailey walked out of the Belize City Magistrate's Court free men.
Today one of the accused walked back up those very steps again facing charges for the murder of Kareem "Matty" Swazo and an attempt on the life of Calbert Budd back in June of last year. The two accused beat the rap last week because prosecutors showed up without the case file.
After a tearful plea for justice from Matty's mother Karen Adolphus, the DPP Kirk Anderson vowed to re-file the charges and arrest warrants were issued over the weekend. 26-year-old Jerry Bush was picked up on Sunday and he is again facing one count of murder and attempted murder. His alleged co-conspirator Terrence Bailey is on the run and police have issued an all points bulletin for his capture.
Swazo was gunned down at noon on June 26th as he sat in a moving car at the corner of Amara Avenue and Allenby Street.
