And while sports dominated the weekend - in the rarified circles of officialdom - honors were again paid to the Baron Victor Henry Ernest Edward Bliss.
On Monday morning, the governor general led official wreath laying ceremonies at the baron bliss memorial in the Fort George area. Education minister Francis Fonseca also laid and wreath and the event was rounded out as the governor general inspected a BDF and scouts guard of honor.
The holiday is to commemorate the death of the Belizean benefactor who died on March 9, 1926.
