As we reported on Friday, police are investigating another drug plane that landed in the northern part of the country.
On Friday morning a BDF team flying near the Orange Walk and Belize District border discovered the plane. A verification team was sent and this white gray blue and black queen airplane was found. The left wing had sustained damage after it ran into a tree. Police also found a light blue Toyota pickup in the area. As usual no one or drugs were found in the plane - but police are certain it was used for drug trans-shipment.
This is the second plane discovered last week, and the fourth this year - all in the north of Belize. Authorities concede that it's an indication of drug trafficking activity - and we'll add that it plays no small part in the fact that for the first time in a long time - U.S. currency is available on the black market for $2.05 to 1. And it's not only good news for the black market - but also for the BDF, which gets to keep the planes if no one claims them in 90 days.
