The burglar who was stopped in his tracks by gunshots from armed city councilor Debbie Vasquez as he tried burglarize her home last Wednesday was well enough this afternoon to face a Magistrate.

Still recovering from gunshot wounds, 21 year old Frank Smith hop-scotched his way up the steps of the Magistrate's Court where in front of the Chief Magistrate he was arraigned on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and wounding.

Smith appeared alongside his attorney Lutchman Sooknandan who called the councilor "trigger happy." Sooknandan also asked the court for sympathy for the alleged thief who was still nursing the gunshot wounds to his ankle and torso.

With that said, Smith pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on bail of $6,000, which he met.
