Two cyclists were knocked down and killed over the weekend. The first casualty came Friday afternoon out on the Western Highway near La Democracia village where 31 year old Domingo Catalan was knocked down by 45 year old Godwin Sutherland who was driving an Isuzu pickup. Catalan died on his way to the KHMH from multiple head and body injuries.
And the Southern Highway wasn't much safer as Maya King villager Mauro Guardado was knocked off his bicycle near the kanantik junction by a Mazda Protege driven by 35-year-old Sagitun football star Gabriel Ramos. Guardado was pronounced dead on arrival at the Southern Regional hospital.
