Two weeks ago, he was extradited from the U.S. to Belize on a bench warrant issued from this country, and today 32-year-old Jason Flores appeared in the Supreme Court.

Flores a former police officer, BDF and prison officer appeared before Justice Troadio Gonzalez where he was sentenced to 6 weeks in jail for contempt of court. Flores told the court that since his return he's been in jail where he was beaten. Gonzalez did not place any stock on that however and told Flores that as a former police officer he should not disobey the order of the court by absconding, and sent him to jail. On the 27th of September of 2000 Flores was before the southern session of the Supreme Court where he was being tried for carnal knowledge. On that day Flores managed to escape from police custody and disappeared. Now the charges of carnal knowledge and grievous harm of a 10-year-old are expected to be re-instituted against him.
