Last night we reported that late Friday night police responded to a call of shots on Fairweather Street and found an injured Donald Gaskin Gordon hiding in some nearby swamps. Despite the gunshot to his instep, police charged the 21 year old who they believe was actually the shooter and had probably just discarded the gun. That is the police's story, but his mother Lupita Gaskin sees it differently. Lupita visited our studios to say her son is the victim and when he was arrested by police that only added insult to his injury.

"When he got shot in his foot he said he didn't stop to see where he got shot and he just ran down the street although he already felt the burning in his feet so that's why he ran."
KS: But police charged him for the shooting in which he was injured?
Lupita Gaskin,
"Yes and the police they charged him saying that he had a gun but he didn't have any kind of weapon and he couldn't fire anyway because when the police came they beat him up. He is the victim who got shot. He didn't have a gun or anything. They took him into custody to help him but they didn't help him they beat up him."
Donald Gaskin Gordon was charged with aggravated assault and when he appeared in court yesterday he was denied bail. His mother says she intends to consult a lawyer.
