"It is not a done deal," that was the word from Prime Minister Said Musa to the DFC union yesterday on cabinet's decision to liquidate the embattled financial institution. PM Musa led the meeting between union execs and DFC management where he made it clear the doors are open for continued discussion. The union leaders who represent about 80 percent of DFC's employees made it clear their biggest concern is job security. DFC union representative Emmerson Burke told 7NEWS while that is at the top of their list, also central is the broader issue of handling DFC's debt. Burke says it is the position of the union that DFC is still solvent and can still be made viable but it will take effort, tightening of the belt, and political will. There was no resolution at the end of yesterday's meeting but with the doors still open meetings are scheduled for next week.
