A man who was caught in the act Saturday tampering with a BEL meter is in a whole of trouble tonight. His name is Jermaine Flowers from Hattieville and BEL says that the man who was dressed in company uniform has been illegally offering his services to customers in San Ignacio and Belmopan. A release from the company says flowers then allegedly billed these customers and absconded with their money and without performing any works. A BEL release says if you are caught tampering with or if you hire someone to tamper with a BEL meter you can be billed for an assessed amount, $1,000 in fine, and even denial of further service.
For what it is worth, even though flowers has been at it for more than a year now BEL didn't report him or alert his activities to police.
