Last week we reported on the rape of an orange walk woman who was taken into San Estevan Village in the Orange Walk District and was raped. Police are today releasing the name of the suspect and he is identified as Albert Guy. Guy has been charged with rape, aggravated assault, indecent assault and harm. The woman, a food vendor of Orange Walk told police that a man picked her up while she was walking home in Orange Walk Town and took her to an area near a cane field in San Estevan village where he forced her to perform oral sex and later placed her in the back seat of his vehicle where he raped her.
If the name Albert Guy rings a bell to you, it should. He is the same person who was arrested and charged after the abduction and attempted sexual assault of a UB student back in 1999. At the time the young lady, Tracy Gillett, was forced into a vehicle and taken up the Northern Highway where she managed to escape only after a bus driver saw her plight and rammed into Guy's car. Viewers will recall that at the time guy skipped bail and was rearrested when he returned back to Belize after being in the U.S. He was later cleared in a Supreme Court trial partly because of a faulty I.D. parade.
