She was arrested in July of 2003, one year after the immigration scandal came to a head. Well today, the woman described as a small fish in a vast sea of corruption, Therese Cabral was found guilty 12 counts of forgery in the Supreme Court. She was remanded into custody until next week Thursday when she will be sentenced. Cabral, an employee of immigration agent Jose Shoman, was accused of falsifying passport applications and was being tried for 15 counts of forgery. Still awaiting trial are fifty-seven-year-old Jabor "Gabby" Affif and fifty-two-year-old Hassan El-Sayed. The cases against Affif and El-Sayed will be heard jointly in the Supreme Court. They include some 119 accusations of forging official documents.
