In another story that we aired a couple of weeks ago regarding the algae bloom on the Sibun River that is affecting communities along that water body Fabro told us the department's efforts have been expanded. He says teams have been working in the area and are conducting a sweep of the entire stretch of river to determine if, other than the Fresh Catch Fish farm, there is another culprit for the water's pollution. He says they are looking at nearby citrus orchards as well as tourist resorts to see if they are contributing to the problem.
