We had reported it as a bizarre stabbing incident on Friday when the driver of a black Chevy Blazer was stabbed while traveling on Mahogany Street. Well today it turned from a bizarre attack to one that just served the victim right. 21 year old Anthony Crawford told police that he was walking along Tibruce Street toward Mahogany Street on Friday at around 2 when a Chevy Blazer pulled up on him. He says the driver of the vehicle got out and snatched a gold chain from around his neck. He then jumped back into the vehicle and drove off. But Crawford kept up on foot and that's when the driver/chain snatcher lost track of the road and collided with an oncoming car. That's when Crawford got into the vehicle to try to retrieve his gold chain. He claims the driver made motions as if to pull out a weapon. Not waiting for that to happened Crawford then pulled out a knife and stabbed the driver to his left arm and back. Shortly thereafter the police escorted the culprit to the KHMH. He was later identified as 23-year-old Kareem Thompson.

Police are now awaiting his release from the hospital after which he will be charged for robbery. Notably Thompson has been sentenced to 7 years in jail in absentia for a previous robbery.
