Police and machine gun carrying BDF soldiers continue to maintain a heavy presence on Albert Street but businesses in the city's commercial center continue to operate in fear of another round of looting and vandalism. By this afternoon 90% of the businesses in and around the Albert Street area were closed down and those that were opened kept their shutters down while other were reinforcing their shutters before nightfall. Still, overall the streets were calm this afternoon. We have received reports that the unions have put forward a proposal for a national countrywide demonstrations next week Saturday. Again, this is only a proposal right now but it would be for students unions and businesses to join together.
