An 18-year-old girl is in jail tonight for allegedly organizing in the armed kidnapping of her ex-boyfriend. Her two accomplices are on the run tonight after police accidentally released them. The accused is Farah Young who was arraigned in court today on charges of wounding and kidnapping. Her ex-boyfriend. Gregory Herrera told police that on Wednesday he was heading home when two men accosted him and placed a gun to his head near the Bel-China Bridge. He was forced into a green van in which his ex Farah Young was. Once inside he claims they drove 3 miles up the Western Highway where they placed a gun to his head demanding he turn over money which they accused him of stealing from Farah Young and her mother. Herrera was also allegedly beaten. The crime was halted in progress when a policeman who had observed the kidnapping, called it in and police snuck up on the criminals and opened fire. Police arrested Farah Young in addition to 19-year-old Evan Thurton and 23-year-old Kenyon Lewis. Thurton and Lewis were however inadvertently released from the Queen Street during the chaos on Wednesday night. What's interesting is that Farah Young was also charged in court today with theft for stealing $12,000 from Rick Cook - money which was being held by her mother. That is the same $12,000 that Hererra was kidnapped for allegedly stealing.
