On Friday night we told you the story of Brian Neal, the man who claims he was hired to burn down Channel 7's studio, and what we believed was the police's inaction on that complaint. Well, since being outed for malfeasance on the investigative end, police have stepped sharply. On Sunday afternoon, they detained a resident of Crooked Tree for questioning. According to police, he has denied any connection with and in fact any knowledge of Brian Neal, better known as Easy B. Since then police have been seeking Neal's relatives for questioning because they saw Gentle pick up Neal at his home in the Port Loyola Area. But up to newstime, it appeared that those relatives had not been reached for that corroboration and the Crooked Tree resident fingered as the contractor for the arson will be released after 48 hours in detention. For his part, Brian Neal has eluded arrest on an outstanding fine and told us he has made arrangements with the court to settle the matter.
