He was awaiting trial for armed robbery but Arleigh Guild won't make it to court because he was murdered last night. Around 11 pm the 24-year-old was with a female friend on a secluded beach in the Port Loyola Area when he was shot execution style. But apparently Guild wasn't robbed and his family says he wasn't involved in any gang and didn't have problems with anyone.... So why was he shot? Keith Swift was on the crime scene this morning in search of the answer.

This is Old College Beach; those who live in this area know it as a popular lover's point. But last night it was the scene of a brutal murder. This blood marks the spot where 24-year-old Arleigh Guild was shot. Just before he was shot - Arleigh was here at College Beach in this dodge with a female friend.

His female friend, who we'll identify only by her first name Nicole, told police that they were in the backseat when three men wearing masks and armed with guns, and at least one with a knife, approached the vehicle. She said the knife was placed to her throat and she was dragged out of the vehicle and ordered to lie on the ground.

While she was on the ground she heard two shots. After the assailants later fled in the direction of Brighton Beach she got up and that's when Nicole says she found that one of those shots had hit Arleigh in his head.

This morning back at the crime scene with the old white Dodge car that the two were in still parked in the same spot almost as a stinging reminder of last night's carnage. His friends surveyed the area and among them was his childhood friend Al Banner who said he doesn't know what happened on Old College Beach last night but he does know that Arleigh didn't deserve to die like this.

Al Banner, Friend
"Right now I feel bad because Arleigh is somebody who doesn't fool with anybody. He is cool and everything and he just was getting in the dread thing in which he stayed home and didn't mess with nobody so I don't why they did the man that."

Keith Swift,
What kind of person was he?

Al Banner,
"Arleigh was cool. Most of the time he stayed and took his little drink and didn't fool with nobody."

Keith Swift,
When was the last time you saw him?

Al Banner,
"Boy it was about 9 am yesterday. So from then...that's it man."

Tonight police have a number of suspects detained but there have been no arrests. The Guild family says that female friend he was with is somebody he has known since childhood. Guild was charged in November along with Germaine Smart for allegedly robbing three flags supermarket in the Cayo District. He was charged with three counts of robbery, and one count of keeping unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
